Students gain practical piloting skills with mini-drones and explore the broader concepts of flight and rocketry, culminating in taking home their own mini-drone.
Students in the Flight, Drones and Rocketry camp will explore the exciting world of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), including mini drones, quadcopters, and airplanes. Safety is a priority as campers learn to fly in first-person view (FPV) and discover real-world applications of drones. They will master basic piloting skills and construct an obstacle course for flying. The camp culminates in a final race to showcase their acquired knowledge. Campers will also engage in critical thinking by brainstorming innovative uses for drones and sketching their ideas. Beyond drones, students will experiment with various types of planes, flying gadgets, rockets, gyroscopes, and physics toys. All participants will take home their own mini-drone, providing a tangible outcome of their learning experience.
A typical day involves hands-on activities with mini drones, quadcopters, and airplanes, learning to fly in first-person view, and experimenting with various flying gadgets and physics toys.
This camp is ideal for elementary-aged students (7-12) who are curious about flight, drones, and rocketry, and enjoy hands-on building and experimentation.
