Campers experience authentic simulated space missions in spacecraft simulators and engage with NASA-inspired research and guest speakers.
Buehler Challenger & Science Center Summer Camps offer an immersive STEM experience focused on space science and engineering. Campers engage in a variety of hands-on activities, including flying simulated space missions in spacecraft simulators, building and launching model rockets, and participating in design challenges. The curriculum is inspired by NASA research, allowing students to explore concepts like planetary science, astronaut training, and robotics. Specialized programs, such as "Rocket Girls," are designed to empower specific age groups with focused learning in space science and engineering careers. Through inquiry-based learning, campers develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills essential for future STEM pursuits. Activities also include STARLAB Planetarium experiences and opportunities to hear from NASA guest speakers, providing real-world insights into space exploration.
A typical day involves engaging in hands-on science activities, participating in simulated space missions, and working on team-based design challenges.
This camp is best for curious students who are interested in space exploration, science, and engineering, and who enjoy hands-on learning and teamwork.
